I have a long way to go before I can say I'm walking the compassionate walk the way I'd like to.
Compassion for myself.
Compassion for other people.
Compassion for the rest of the beautiful creation that surrounds us.
These are all things I need to work on. Sometimes I get it right. Many times I get it wrong. When I write about it, when I talk about it, I hold myself accountable just a little better and I hope I help others to do that, too.
So here I am, trying to get it right, trying to be honest about my successes and failures, hypocrisies and contradictions, questions and confusion.
The way forward is not always clear.
I continue to learn. I value the lessons (though I don't always like them, especially when they're repeats; they're often repeats).
I trust (I hope) that I am taking more steps forward than back.
I want your company.
And I need your company.
Will you walk with me?
