Walk the Walk

You are not meant to run the walk.

This is not a race. There is no finish line.



You were made to walk,

            to walk,

                        to walk,


To find comfort in the steady pace of humanity,

To mark a path that others may follow…

or not.


Put one foot in front of the other.

Knowing you’re guided,

will you choose to follow?



even when the ground is quaking.

Move slowly.

You may fall.

Stand again.


even when your legs falter.

With practice you will find

your strength and your stride.


even when you walk alone.

            You are good company.

            New companions will join you

            and leave you…

            Receive each as a teacher,

yourself included.



and walk.

And stop.

Rest when you need to.

You will need to.


Take off your shoes.

Let your soles caress That Which Holds You.

Squish your toes into Where You Came From.

Wiggle them into Where You Will Return.
